Arbordel Farm is a traditional family farm in that every member of the family contributes to production, mostly without sleep, and frequently in extreme weather conditions. We practice horticulture (because we can't afford machines) and animal husbandry, because we love our animals (baked, boiled, broiled, or fried).
We maintain a number of horses to provide manure for the garden and brick making. We keep several dogs to protect our livestock from predators.
Farm products are sold to maintain the cash flow needed to purchase what we can't produce for ourselves. Homemade bread, home grown vegetables, goats, pigs, and poultry are available most of the time.
Our goal is to create a harmonic lifestyle, enjoying a balance between labor intensive projects and relaxation, enjoying food fit for a king, all of the comforts with none of the debt, and the extreme satisfaction of knowing that we determine our own destiny.
